Mobile Apps
At the Laboratory of Digital Models in Structures and Construction, we strongly believe that Mobile Apps are essential bridge and to explore interactions with construction and inspection sites. The complexity of built environments requires digital tools that facilitate data collection, visualization, and interaction in an intuitive manner, even for users with limited programming experience.
To address this, tailor-made app prototypes have been developed in recent years. Block-based programming has been used in recent years making app development more accessible while still enabling powerful functionalities such as sensor integration, real-time data logging, access to camera and video recordings for on-site interaction and most importantly, links with digital models.
Through these developments, mobile applications prove useful to enhance construction workflows, inspection procedures, and digital twin interactions. Civil engineering students and researchers can explore with hands-on experiences, the digital transformation within the built environment.
